There is a unique feature that Google is rolling out through Google My Business (GMB) to shorten the URL of your Google listing! Short Names will make it easier for you to share your GMB profile, get new reviews from customers and play a more involved role in your business’ online presence.

  • You, as the merchant, can choose a GMB short name between 5 and 32 characters in length, but choose wisely as you can only change your short name 3 times a year.
  • Your short name does not have to include the name of your business, although it definitely can. You can include any information about your business that you choose, as long as it doesn’t infringe upon Google’s policies.
  • Short name example: g.page/{yourname}

Not all GMB merchants have this feature currently available, but Leadhub has secured Short Names for our clients that do, so there’s nothing you need to do!
